Vida Blue and the Spam Allstars // Tour & Album

Vida Blue and The Spam Allstars toured in 2004 in support of their collaborative release The Illustrated Band. The album was recorded in Miami, Florida, the home of The Spam Allstars, at Middle Ear Recording Studios (home studio of the Bee Gees) in April of 2003. The improvisational fusion of Vida Blue’s atmospheric jazz, with the Spam Allstars’s blend of Afro-Cuban inspired electronic elements and turntables creates a memorably unique sound.

In addition to the album, Live at the Fillmore was released on 11/15/2004 featuring the band’s full, live concert at the Fillmore in San Francisco on 6/5/04. The show opens with their namesake, Major League Baseball lefty pitcher Vida Blue, throwing out the first pitch.
