In 2001, Page played keyboards for Tenacious D’s first, self-titled album. The band also teamed up with Dave Grohl (Foo Fighters, Nirvana) on drums. Following the album, Page sat in on a live performance in Winooski, VT the same year.
This time on the synthesizer, Page teamed up with “the D” again in 2012 for their third album, Rize of the Fenix. This album gleaned many positive reviews and was nominated for a Grammy Award for Best Comedy Album in the 2013 Grammys.
Having inspired the likes of Russell Brand, The Lonely Island, and Kanye West, Tenacious D is perhaps the most well known comedy rock band today. With their hilarious and hard-rocking talent, Kyle Gass and Jack Black simultaneously make their audience laugh and dance with a combination of skits and their unique brand of “mock rock.” They have three released albums, a short-lived HBO show, and a 2006 film, entitled The Pick of Destiny.
